BLASST is the largest
privately sponsored fireworks show in Ohio. Our only continuing support
is a $10,000 per year donation from the John Walton Wolfe Estate.
We rely on donations from local businesses, organizations and
individuals to reach our annual $40-50,000 goal. Most donations are $50
- $100.
Thanks to our hundreds of
donors, BLASST is one of the largest firework
shows in Ohio. It is a collaborative effort, relying on the combined
assistance of local fire and police departments, the Fairfield and
Licking
County Sheriff's Offices and Ohio Department of Natural Resources
Divisions of Parks and Watercraft. For the most part, these services
are donated. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks
is our key partner. Our launch site is on state park property and our
annual show must have their permission. In a perfect world, all
fireworks shows would be on the 4th of July. This is not possible for
Columbus's RED WHITE & BOOM nor BLASST. Both are NOT scheduled
on the 4th of July holiday due to the cost and availability of law
enforcement and emergency service personnel. RED WHITE & BOOM
can't afford the holiday overtime cost. For BLASST, ODNR Park officers
and Watercraft officers come from parks all over central Ohio. They
must be in their home parks for the actual holiday.
The bottom
line is that BLASST must work within the confines of our limited
financial resources and the availability of ODNR staffing for the most
beautiful show on earth right in our own back yards OR have no show at
all. It's not a perfect world, but nothing is perfect. Thanks to our
generous donors, we continue to put on a great show every year. That's
close to perfect! Thank you for your continued support. If you are new

it’s not enough. It takes a community, the whole tri-county
community to take pride as a whole. I can’t do that for you but
